- Therapeutic Childcare Practitioner -

Salary: £27,500pa starting salary (unqualified) - £28,300pa (qualified) - Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, earning up to £29,700pa 

Hours: Permanent (The role includes shift work, working some evenings and weekends and 1 x sleep-in a week)                         

Location: Fontwell and Littlehampton, West Sussex

We provide therapeutic residential care for vulnerable and traumatised children between the ages of 4 to 11 on referral.

If you are unqualified, Amicus will fund the required Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare required for this role. Additionally, we will pay for time and also support you to achieve the qualification within the first two years of employment.

- Senior Therapeutic Teaching Assistant (Therapeutic Behaviour Support Practitioner) -

Hours: Full time permanent position 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday during term time only (plus In-Service training days).

The Amicus School is an independent DfES registered SEN school providing therapeutic education to traumatised and vulnerable children aged between 4 - 16 years old. Our school is registered to take up to 28 children. The children attending our school are a mixture of residential and day student placements.

Our School is part of our specialist & innovative independent children’s therapeutic community accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Our psychoanalytic and group process/ relations models informs and is ingrained in our therapeutic practice, culture and environment and is used to help children to recover from their trauma and engage and progress in their learning.

The primary focus of this role is to;

  • Support the high standard of therapeutic education
  • Advise and lead on small group and one-to-one behaviour support interventions across the school

- Maintenance Worker -

Location: Fontwell & Littlehampton, West Sussex

We are currently looking for an extraordinary, creative, resilient & committed individual who is skilled and passionate in their work to join our Maintenance Team at The Amicus Community on a fixed term 12 month contract basis.

Amicus is a therapeutic community for vulnerable and traumatised children. The environment and maintenance of our homes and school places an important and very valued part in our therapeutic work.

Experience in general maintenance is essential, and relevant qualifications would be beneficial for this role. Having the right ethos, enthusiasm and understanding are key qualities we are looking for.

The role of Maintenance Worker is for 40 hours a week and involves assisting in providing a safe, homely, containing and well-maintained environment for the organisation and children. Responding to a variety of requests within budget for repairs and general maintenance of our homes, school and office buildings, fixings, fittings and equipment and also leading and being part of creative projects. The role could also involve occasional emergency call outs after normal working hours. The role will work between our Fontwell and Littlehampton sites. A full clean driving licence and use of own vehicle are therefore essential.
