The Education Team work closely with the children’s carers/parents. This enables an integrated approach that puts the children’s emotional trauma and corresponding impediments to learning at the centre of their detailed therapeutic care and education planning.
The children’s school and home lives are integrated, planned and highly structured so as to support them with their profound emotional fragility and corresponding fear of transitions. Alongside this there are regular formal and informal opportunities for the children to negotiate their relationships and inevitable conflicts with each other.
This enables them to eventually manage larger group learning and to potentially be integrated into more mainstream schooling.
