Bluebells – Therapeutic Children’s Home
The adolescent home is called Bluebells and takes young people from the ages of 5 – 16. It is a five bedroom, three bathroom family-sized semi detached Victorian house with a double garage and garden. It is consistently kept in a good state of decoration and repair.
The ground floor consists of a hallway leading to a living room and then the young people activity/meeting room. The hallway then leads onto an open plan kitchen and dining area. From the kitchen there is a utility room and then a small cloakroom. To the side of the kitchen is a lean-to building housing the fridge/freezer and extra storage space for the kitchen.
Stairs from the hallway lead to first floor accommodation. There are three bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor. Each young person has their own bedroom. Two of the bedrooms are for the young people and the third bedroom with an en-suite is used for staff sleeping in and is the adult bedroom. On the second floor there are two more bedrooms for young people and a family bathroom. The larger bedroom eventually will be modelled on a self contained room with a small bathroom and kitchen facilities preparing the young people for independence. All bedrooms are accessed from the landing, as are the family bathrooms.
