Mission statement of the Amicus Community
The mission of the Amicus Community is to offer a therapeutic home and/or school to children who are vulnerable and need support due to trauma. Our staff team will work with the children, external agencies, families (where appropriate), and carers to enable the children to have structured, consistent therapeutic care, and education opportunities to help them to begin to recover from their trauma. They will do this by having their behaviours understood and being able to reflect and discuss their feelings, and the consequences of their actions and this will enable them to be able to modify their behaviours and build more healthy relationships and attachments leading to better mental and emotional health and wellbeing. Our aim is that children will thrive in our organisation, and with our therapeutic input will leave with a greater understanding of themselves and others and have a brighter future.
